VRX RACING Showcases Steering-Wheel RC Driving Simulator at 2026 CVS Finals Carnival

2026-09-02

From August 28 to 30, the 2026 China Virtual Sports Open (CVS) Finals were held at Shaoquan Sports Center in Hefei, Anhui. As the country's first national-level comprehensive virtual sports event, it brought together more than 300 finalists selected from roughly 8,000 online qualifiers, while the accompanying China Virtual Sports City Carnival drew nearly 10,000 visitors.

RIVERHOBBY TECH (SHENZHEN) CO., LTD. — under its in-house brand VRX RACING — showcased its RC Steering-Wheel Driving Simulator at the carnival, offering visitors a novel way to "drive a real RC car with a professional sim wheel." Seated at the rig, users grip the wheel while a screen streams a first-person view from an onboard camera on a 1/10-scale brushless 4WD buggy. Step on the throttle and turn the wheel, and the car accelerates, steers and drifts in sync — a feel close to real driving.

From "remote control" to "driving": a wheel that drives the RC car directly. Seated at the rig, visitors grip the wheel while a screen streams a first-person view from an onboard camera on a 1/10-scale buggy. Step on the throttle and turn the wheel, and the car accelerates, steers and drifts in sync — a feel close to real driving.

The system is VRX's integrated solution for the convergence of virtual sports and RC modeling: a MOZA direct-drive wheel with dual pedals at the control station; a VRX RACING 1/10 brushless 4WD buggy with a Walksnail HD digital FPV link (roughly 22 ms end-to-end latency) on the vehicle; and at its core, the company's proprietary signal conversion module, which converts simulator USB signals into RC protocol signals in near real time with full 10-channel mapping. It offers one-touch switching between steering-wheel and pistol-grip transmitter modes, adjustable steering angle from 180° to 900°, and compatibility with mainstream scales from 1/10 to 1/24 — for venues from race tracks to in-mall experience zones.

On the afternoon of August 28, Wang Zongyuan — two-time Olympic diving gold medalist in men's synchronized 3m springboard (Tokyo 2020, Paris 2024) — visited the carnival, trying virtual cycling and virtual racing before stepping into RIVERHOBBY's booth to test the steering-wheel RC system. "Virtual sports change the venue, but not the standard for a champion," he said, noting that on a real diving board or a digital circuit, athletes face the same demands of focus, judgment and the pursuit of peak performance. Impressed by how faithfully the wheel translated steering and throttle input into the car's movement, he observed that the system lowers the barrier to entry for RC — visitors can get a near-real driving feel without mastering traditional pistol-grip controls.

During the event, several local Hefei media outlets interviewed the RIVERHOBBY booth on the system's technology, applications and commercial model. CCTV-5 (China Sports Channel) also featured the RC experience zone in its coverage, bringing this "steering wheel + FPV + RC" experience to a national audience.
