VRX RACING, a brand of Riverhobby Tech (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., today announced the start of the first trial-mold phase for its all-new RH1081 OCTANE 2.0, a 1/10 scale electric 4WD off-road buggy. The milestone marks a key step forward in the product's development cycle, with engineering teams now validating fitment, structural integrity, and production readiness of core components.

Product Overview
The RH1081 OCTANE 2.0 is designed to bring desert racing character to the 1/10 scale segment. Drawing inspiration from full-size desert race trucks and short-course platforms, the vehicle combines all-terrain capability with realistic detailing, targeting both off-road enthusiasts and serious hobbyists.
Chassis & Drivetrain
At its core, the OCTANE 2.0 features a molded aluminum chassis that balances lightweight construction with torsional rigidity. The chassis plate serves as a primary structural and protective element, reinforced by an upper deck to resist flex under high-impact loads.
Power is transferred through a shaft-driven 4WD system with a fully sealed center drivetrain. The enclosed design protects internal gears from dirt, sand, and moisture intrusion, helping to maintain consistent power delivery and extend service intervals in demanding environments.
Suspension & Durability
The vehicle is equipped with big bore long-travel shocks, adjustable front suspension arms, and a rear sway bar — a setup tuned for rough terrain stability and improved cornering performance.
Additional durability features include a sealed receiver compartment and splash-protected electronics, enabling operation across a wider range of weather and terrain conditions.
Body Design & Features
The OCTANE 2.0 will be available in two color schemes — Purple-Blue and Red-Yellow — each with high-contrast racing graphics on a white body base.
The short-course style body incorporates a clipless mounting system for tool-free removal, simplifying maintenance and cleaning. Realism is enhanced with a nylon roll cage, a driver figure with helmet, a detailed cockpit interior, and standard LED headlights.

With the first trial-mold now in progress, the engineering team will conduct comprehensive testing on component fit, material durability, and overall vehicle performance. Results from this phase will guide any necessary design refinements ahead of subsequent tooling stages.
The RH1081 OCTANE 2.0 will be offered as a Ready-to-Run (RTR) package. Further development updates will be announced as the project advances toward mass production.
