VRX RACING, a brand of Riverhobby Tech (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., today announced the launch of the OCTANE EVO, a 1/10-scale 4WD electric off-road buggy now shipping as two ready-to-run (RTR) models: the RH1081 (brushed) and the RH1082 (brushless).
Built to bring the raw aggression of desert racing into the 1/10-scale world, the OCTANE EVO combines a one-piece die-cast aluminum chassis, a fully enclosed gearbox, and a clipless quick-release body. It is aimed at off-road enthusiasts and intermediate-to-advanced hobbyists who want a rugged, low-maintenance basher — straight out of the box on sand, mud, grass, and gravel.

The OCTANE EVO launches in two RTR specs: RH1081 (brushed, Blaze Pioneer livery) and RH1082 (brushless, Stellar Fall livery).
Two Models, One Platform
The OCTANE EVO launches on one shared platform in two configurations, so buyers choose the power they want rather than the platform they settle for. The RH1081 runs a 550-size 21T brushed motor with a splash-proof 40A ESC — punchy, reliable all-terrain power at 30+ km/h. The RH1082 steps up to a 3650 3300KV brushless motor with a 60A splash-proof ESC, delivering 55+ km/h brushless performance for experienced drivers.
The two models also wear distinct liveries. The red-yellow Blaze Pioneer is a warm, high-visibility scheme built for everyday bashing under the sun; the purple-blue Stellar Fall uses a cool, high-contrast palette aimed at collectors and track use. VRX RACING calls the pairing “Scorching Sun × Starry Night” — one architecture, two personalities. The choice is intuitive: pick Blaze Pioneer for daily off-road runs, or Stellar Fall for a track-focused edge.
Chassis & Drivetrain
The OCTANE EVO is built around a one-piece die-cast aluminum chassis with a reinforced upper plate, balancing light weight with rigidity and heat dissipation. The fully enclosed gearbox seals the internal metal gears from mud, sand, and debris, protecting the drivetrain and extending maintenance intervals. Power is delivered through a shaft-driven 4WD system with front universal joint driveshafts and all-metal gears for efficient, consistent delivery across rough terrain.

Body & Everyday Serviceability
The clipless quick-release body mount removes body clips entirely: flip the recessed latch and the shell pops off for instant access to the chassis, battery, and electronics — tool-free, in seconds. A high-strength nylon roll cage adds scale realism and chassis protection, while the top-mounted LED light bar and pre-drilled front light mounts extend running time into dusk and night.

Suspension & Electronics
Large-bore, long-travel oil-filled shocks with multi-position adjustment holes absorb landing impacts and rough-terrain chatter; droop, camber, and toe-in are all adjustable for tuning handling to any surface. The electronics are splash-proof across the board — a 6KG waterproof steering servo, a fully sealed receiver box, and the splash-proof ESC keep the car running in wet and dusty conditions.

Ready to Run, Ready to Race
Both models ship as complete RTR packages: the buggy, an FS-MG4 2.4GHz fully proportional transmitter, and a user manual. To get the RH1081 running, add a 2S LiPo battery (XT60) and a compatible balance charger; the RH1082 needs only 4× AAA batteries for the transmitter. Every unit is CE and RoHS certified and 100% tested before shipping.
A full line of blue-anodized aluminum and carbon-fiber upgrade parts — suspension arms, steering knuckles, steering linkages, and oil-filled shocks — is available for both models.
