VRX Racing is proud to unveil the official design concept for our upcoming 1/24 scale off-road vehicle: The MACE. We pull back the curtain on the R&D journey and the radical design philosophy shaping the future of our micro-scale lineup.
Every pulse-pounding industrial design starts with a pure vision. When our team set out to design a new 1/24 scale monster truck—a golden ratio for both desktop display and portable bashing—we centered our focus on a single concept: The Monolith.
We wanted to inject an unshakable, massive presence and a rigid visual dominance into a micro-scale RC. Starting from raw pen-and-paper sketches, the designers established the core DNA of the vehicle: a boxy silhouette, a flat panoramic roof, and a vertically cut front fascia. Exaggerated wide-body fender flares further solidified the MACE’s unapologetically angular and hardcore aesthetic.
To translate abstract lines into a striking visual reality, the VRX Racing R&D team utilized cutting-edge AI rendering tools. Placing the steel beast into a virtual desert wasteland, AI helped enhance the light-and-shadow dynamics on the faceted body. However, this presented a significant engineering challenge. A true RC basher must survive high-impact off-roading.
Through countless iterations, we bridged the gap between virtual concepts and manufacturing reality. We optimized the draft angles and thickness distribution, ensuring the upcoming body shell will remain highly durable while perfectly wrapping around our 1/24 chassis architecture.
Through this rigorous design journey, the truck earned its name. MACE is more than just a model designation; it is the ultimate condensation of our design philosophy:
M – Monolith: Emphasizing an immovable, imposing presence. The flat roofline and vertical front grille construct a fortress-like stance that demands attention.
A – Aggression: A stance ready to strike. Rejecting soft, rounded curves, the MACE utilizes sharp faceted cuts, a distinct split-level waistline, and wide arches to maximize its aggressive look.
C – Conquers: All-terrain DNA. The functional honeycomb grille and bold 4WD decals act as a confident declaration of its off-road prowess.
E – Earth: The Earth is its playground. Whether it’s desert sands, rocky trails, mud bogs, or the urban jungle, the MACE is built to conquer it all.
A great RC body shell is never just for show; it is the armor that protects the precision mechanics within. To preserve the seamless surface tension of the MACE design, we are engineering a Hidden Rotary Clipless Body Mounting System. This ensures a pure, scale appearance while allowing drivers to remove the shell smoothly and effortlessly, leaving behind the hassle of traditional body clips.
Furthermore, this rugged shell is purpose-built to house an uncompromising future drivetrain. The upcoming chassis is slated to feature a 180-size brushless motor delivering a blistering 28,000 RPM, a military-grade full-metal gear transmission, heavy-duty CVD driveshafts, and a 2.4GHz proportional radio system with independent spring suspension.
From a raw sketch to a masterfully rendered concept, the MACE has reached its final design stage. Featuring dynamic, asymmetrical "RiftRider" diagonal decals to break up the rigid lines, the MACE concept is showcased in two stunning colorways:
Silver Storm: Delivering a sleek, cold industrial vibe with its silver body and blacked-out windows. A striking racing-red waistline cuts through the design like a blade—perfect for speed runners and urban bashers.
Bronze Beast: Finished in a weathered metallic bronze that tells the story of time and rugged trails. The racing-red waistline burns like magma through the dark chassis, making it a favorite for scale collectors and rock crawling enthusiasts.
