Intro. A North American retailer with deep toy distribution — and no RC engineering team — wanted a private-label line of 1/10 off-road trucks for a single season. VRX RACING delivered it in 80 days from kickoff to first shipment, built on a platform that had already proven itself in the field.
Challenge. The retailer had a shelf slot and a price point, not a product. It had no engineering or sourcing team for RC, no appetite for a long development cycle, and a hard seasonal deadline. Every step — design, tooling, compliance, packaging — had to be managed by someone else.
Solution. We started from the BLAST 2.0 short-course truck (RH1043SC), a mass-produced chassis with an existing parts supply chain, and differentiated the line through custom body styling, livery, box art and a bilingual manual handled by our in-house team. Compliance was coordinated end to end: ASTM F963 and CPSIA documentation, labeling and testing. Every unit passed a 100% functional pre-shipment check, and packaging was designed for shelf appeal and freight efficiency in one pass.
Timeline & Results.
First article at day 10; production completed at day 60; first order of 2,000 units shipped on schedule.
Sell-through of the first container within four weeks at key retail doors; reorder placed within 60 days.
The line was extended to a second model the following season.
