Intro. A German hobby distributor with a strong spare-parts customer base had watched the RC vehicle category for years — and avoided it, because vehicles meant inventory risk and after-sales complexity. A single 40-foot container changed that.
Challenge. Entering the vehicle category from zero meant betting on demand that didn’t exist yet. The distributor needed a low-risk way to test the market, EU-compliant product configuration (2.4 GHz radio band, plug type, manual and packaging in German), and a factory that would actually answer the phone when something broke.

Solution. VRX RACING structured the first order to de-risk the trial: a flexible first-order MOQ with staged terms. The vehicles shipped EU-spec from the factory — CE-compliant 2.4 GHz radios, EU plug chargers, localized manual and packaging. Alongside the hardware came a marketing kit (product photography, feature sheets, event support, including a shared presence at the Nuremberg Spielwarenmesse) and free technical training for the distributor’s service team on repair, maintenance and tuning.

Results.
From 1 container in year one to roughly 6 containers a year by year three.
100+ retail points of sale carrying the line.
Field return rate below industry average, with VRX parts shipped within 7 days.

“The difference was that VRX treated our first container like a partnership, not a sale.” — Managing Director
