Intro. In late August 2026, China’s first national virtual sports finals ran in Hefei, and the VRX RACING booth at the accompanying carnival offered visitors something no other zone did: a real RC car, driven by a sim racing wheel.
The event. The 2026 China Virtual Sports Open (CVS) Finals ran August 28–30 at Shaoquan Sports Center in Hefei, Anhui — the country’s first national-level comprehensive virtual sports event, with more than 300 finalists from roughly 8,000 online qualifiers. The China Virtual Sports City Carnival that ran alongside it drew close to 10,000 visitors.
The system. Wheel-to-Wheel RC Driving turns a professional sim racing wheel into the controller of a real RC car. Visitors sat at the rig with a MOZA direct-drive wheel, gripped it, and watched a live first-person view streamed from a camera onboard a 1/10 brushless 4WD buggy. Throttle, steering and drift all responded in sync — a driving feel close to the real thing, minus the learning curve of a traditional pistol-grip transmitter.
The hardware. At the heart of the system is the Black Box, a signal-conversion module VRX developed in-house. It translates the USB signal from wheel and pedals into standard RC protocol in near real time, with full 10-channel mapping — no PC required at the track. Direction, center-point, travel (EPA) and steering angle are all tunable on the module’s OLED screen, and it ships pre-tuned from the factory. Steering range adjusts from 180° to 900° to suit first-time visitors and seasoned sim racers alike; paddle shifters control forward and reverse; an onboard Walksnail HD digital FPV link delivers a 1080p cockpit view with roughly 22 ms end-to-end latency.

The attention. Olympic diving champion Wang Zongyuan tried the system on opening day, several Hefei media outlets interviewed the booth on the technology and its commercial applications, and CCTV-5 featured the RC experience zone in its event coverage.

What it means for venue operators. For race tracks, in-mall experience zones and sports carnivals, the package is a turnkey format: plug-and-play, low learning curve, built on commercial-grade components, and a format that turns “watching RC” into “driving RC”.
